India dealt a major blow as young all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the T20I”s due to an injury. Sundar sustained an injury in the right ankle during the warm-up football on Tuesday ahead of the first T20I.
Sundar showed early signs of a matured spinner as he was highly effective in the Nidahas trophy. His magical spells grabbed him the Player of the series award too. This injury will also impose an additional burden on the wrist spinning duo Kuldeep and Chahal to deliver 120% of their potential.
Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out due to an injured thumb. However, the possible replacements for them haven”t been out yet. Though Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur are in contention for Bumrah “s slot, it will be really interesting to see who will fill the void of Sundar.
On the other hand, the England squad is also dealing with many injury concerns. Dawid Malan has been named as the replacement for Tom Curran who is suffering from a side strain. Reports suggest that Curran should be fine for the last two games and Malan has been called just as a cover for the KKR bowler.
The first T20I will be played on July 3rd at Old Trafford.
