“After The match In The Hotel, He’s Doing His Work” – Saurabh Netravalkar’s Sister Shares The USA Pacer’s Commitment

Nidhi, sister of USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar, disclosed that the cricketer often works on his laptop at the team hotel after matches. At 32, he holds a prestigious position at Oracle, balancing his job with his cricket career.

Netravalkar has impressed fans and experts with his left-arm pace bowling in the 2024 T20 World Cup, taking four wickets in three matches with an impressive average of 13 and an economy rate of 5.20.

In an interview with News 18, Nidhi discussed Oracle’s support for Netravalkar, allowing him to work remotely, and highlighted his unwavering passion for his job.

“He’s been very fortunate to have people who have always supported him throughout his career. He knows that when he’s not playing cricket, he has to give 100 per cent to the job. So right now, when he’s working, he carries his laptop everywhere.”

“And he has the freedom to work from anywhere. Even when he comes to India, he brings his laptop. He’s working. So after the match in the hotel, he’s doing his work. He is pretty dedicated like that,” said Nidhi.

Saurabh Netravalkar played a key role in the USA’s notable victory over Pakistan in their second match of the tournament, delivering figures of 2/18 and excelling in the Super Over. He further bolstered his cricketing reputation by taking the crucial wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the subsequent game against India.

Saurabh Netravalkar’s sister mentioned that being from Mumbai instilled a workaholic nature in the USA cricketer. The 32-year-old played for the Indian U-19 team in the 2010 World Cup and made his debut for Mumbai in the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy.

“This is something which is like that Mumbaikarness in him, which is always there, this whole hustle culture in us. You can’t just take it out.”

“You know, like all of us, like since the beginning, when he used to travel to Churchgate for his training on the train, he was to do his homework. He played cricket but also studied well and topped his class. He’s always had two careers in my perspective,” stated Nidhi.

Since his debut for the USA in 2019, Netravalkar has participated in 48 ODIs and 30 T20Is, amassing a total of 104 wickets. The left-arm pacer is set to return to action tonight when the USA faces Ireland in their final Group A match in Florida.
