Australian women completed the whitewash of India in the third One day international player of the ICC Women’s Championship at Reliance Stadium, Vadodara just finished a few moments ago. Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat first. Nicole Bolton the player of the match in the first two ODI’s was dismissed early.
The other opener Healy played a match-winning knock of 133 and contributions from Perry, Lanning, Beth Mooney, Gardner, Carey helped Australia post a massive total of 332 for 7 in 50 overs. While chasing Rodrigues and Mandhana began on an aggressive note putting on 101 runs, then lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 235.
Australian women captain Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat first. Ekta Bisht got the early breakthrough by dismissing the inform batter Nicole Bolton for 11 runs. Both Healy and Perry added 79 runs for the third wicket. Healy showed great aggression with bat reaching 100 off 94 balls. It was an amazing batting display by the Australian batters. Ekta Bisht did not bowl his full 10 quota overs. Haynes also contributed quick fire 43 off 39 balls and added 96 runs for the 4th wicket. Gardner scored 35 off 20 balls while Beth Mooney remained not out on 34 off 19 balls. Australian women posted a massive total of 332 for 7 in 50 overs.
Chasing 333, the Indian openers Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana gave the team a flying start scoring 68 runs in first 10 overs. After the power play overs both Indian batters continued their aggressive touch, completing a century run stand. Mandhana completed her half-century off 41 balls. Both the well set batters were dismissed in quick succession.
Harmanpreet Kaur and captain Mithali Raj added 46 runs for the 3rd wicket. Sushma Verma contributed 30, Deepti Sharma 36, Indian team lost wickets at regular intervals as the hosts were bowled out for 235 in 44.4 overs. Ekta Bisht did not bat because of her injury.
