The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials Roger Binny and Rajeev Shukla entered Lahore, Pakistan, on Monday, September 4th, after crossing the Attari-Wagah border, to participate in the Asia Cup. The BCCI’s president and vice-president are on a two-day trip to the neighbouring nation, having accepted an invitation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to be present at the final group match of the Asia Cup 2023 scheduled for Tuesday.
Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are set to compete at Lahore’s Gadaffi Stadium. Additionally, the PCB will host a dinner for member nations of the ACC. In a conversation with ANI, Rajiv Shukla affirmed that their trip is solely focused on cricket matters, with no other intentions. He stated:
“This two-day visit is purely from the point of view of cricket, nothing political, a dinner has been hosted and three teams will be there – Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.”
