Asia Cup 2023: [WATCH] Indian Players Enjoy In The Headshot Session Ahead Of The Campaign Opener

Rohit Sharma and his team kick off their campaign against Pakistan at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, September 2nd. Before their first match in the 2023 Asia Cup against traditional rivals Pakistan, Team India had an enjoyable headshot session.

It’s worth noting that Rohit Sharma and his team will kick off their campaign on Saturday, September 2nd, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. After a six-day skill improvement camp in Alur, Karnataka, the Indian cricket team arrived in the island nation on Wednesday, August 30.

In preparation for their upcoming match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on their social media platform, showcasing players like Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Shubman Gill participating in a headshot session.

β€œLights. Camera. Action. Have a look at #TeamIndia’s fun-filled Headshots session ahead of #AsiaCup2023,” captioned the BCCI on their β€˜X’ handle.

“We have reached Sri Lanka and we are very excited for the Asia Cup. We shot a few funny headshots,” Siraj mentioned in the video posted by the BCCI.

India prepares for their upcoming clash with Pakistan

In reference to the ongoing Asia Cup, Pakistan initiated their campaign with a dominant 238-run victory over Nepal, thanks to Babar Azam’s 151 and Iftikhar Ahmed’s unbeaten 109. Meanwhile, India is gearing up for their first match and is eager to outperform Pakistan in Saturday’s highly-anticipated match.

Reflecting on their recent encounters in the Continental Cup in 2022, India secured victory during the group stage, while Pakistan advanced to the final by winning the Super Four clash. Notably, key players like Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Prasidh Krishna, and Shreyas Iyer have returned to the squad for the Asia Cup after recovering from injuries.

However, head coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that KL Rahul will miss the first two group games as he continues to recover from his injury. Additionally, Siraj is making his comeback to the ODI setup after being rested during the ODI segment of the West Indies tour due to a sore ankle.
