In a historic moment, Team India secured their record-breaking 8th Asia Cup title by dominating Sri Lanka with a remarkable 10-wicket victory. While Virat Kohli is renowned for his incredible batting skills, it’s his multifaceted persona both on and off the cricket field that elevates him to superstar status.
Beyond his well-known energy and aggression during matches, fans also adore his sense of humour and playful antics. One recent incident, now viral across the internet, occurred following Team India’s resounding 10-wicket triumph over Dasun Shanaka’s Sri Lanka in the 2023 Asia Cup Final, held at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium.
The video capturing this memorable moment features Virat Kohli alongside Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, and Mohammed Siraj. In a light-hearted twist, Ishan amusingly mimics Virat’s distinctive walk, sending the entire group into fits of laughter. Not to be outdone, Kohli responds with his own comical rendition of the walk. This endearing display has set the internet ablaze, with fans rapidly sharing the heartwarming clip on various social platforms.

The cricketing heroics of Mohammed Siraj cannot be overlooked either. He achieved the remarkable feat of becoming only the second bowler in the history of men’s ODI Asia Cup finals to claim a six-wicket haul, following in the footsteps of Ajantha Mendis.
Siraj’s devastating spell saw him capture an astonishing 6-21 in just seven overs, including four wickets in his second over. He capitalized on the pitch’s movement, bewildering the Sri Lankan batters and delivering his career-best performance.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya contributed with three crucial wickets, and Jasprit Bumrah secured one scalp as India’s fast bowlers collectively dismantled the Sri Lankan batting lineup, dismissing them for a mere 50 runs. This total marked Sri Lanka’s second-lowest ever in an ODI and their lowest ever against India.
In the chase of a paltry 51 runs, India entrusted the opening partnership to Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. Gill set the tone by elegantly dispatching Pramod Madushan for a boundary, while Kishan added to the excitement with consecutive fours off Matheesha Pathirana.
Gill continued his aggressive play, accumulating three more boundaries against Madhushan, and together with Kishan, they comfortably secured the win with 263 balls to spare, concluding the contest in just 37 deliveries.
