Australia National Cricket Team have announced a star-studded 14-member squad for the upcoming three-match One-Day Internationals (ODI) series against India starting from January 14. Star batsman Marnus Labuschagne has earned his maiden limited-overs calls as a reward of his outstanding form with the bat in Test cricket.
Meanwhile, the World Cup trio of Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis or Nathan Lyon will have to sit out, who will instead play in the KFC Big Bash League (BBL) while the national side visits the subcontinent. The selectors also announced former cricket Andrew McDonald as the assistant coach of Justin Langer for the ODI series against Virat Kohli & Co, who have looked unbeaten on home soil.

Marnus Labuschagne averaged 60 in the Marsh One-Day Cup for the Bulls this season and has scored three centuries in as many Tests which went in his favour. He will join Ashton Turner and Peter Handscomb in Australia”s middle-order in a bid to outplay the Indian spinners, who enjoys a stellar record in these conditions. Meanwhile, skipper Aaron Finch, David Warner, and Steve Smith will slot in the top-order. D”Arcy Short who replaced injured Sean Abbott will be an additional option in the batting unit.
Pat Cummins, Mitch Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Kane Richardson will be the fast bowling options while Adam Zampa is the lone specialist spinner. Ashton Turner and Marnus Labuschagne will be part-time options to support Zampa as Australia look to upset India in their territory.
The three-match series between India and Australia will take place in Mumbai (Jan 14), Rajkot (Jan 17) and Bengaluru (Jan 19).
