It was another day of Dinesh Karthik displaying his eye-pleasing strokeplay in IPL 2022. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals are currently facing each other in Match 27 of IPL 2022. DC skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl.

For RCB, Dinesh Karthik came in to bat at no.7 when the score was 92-5. From there, Karthik added 97 runs with Shahbaz Ahmed to take the RCB total to 189-5. The veteran smashed 5 fours and 5 sixes in his innings of 66 runs.

In the 18th over of the match, bowled by DC pacer Mustafizur Rahman, Karthik accumulated 28 runs smashing each ball for a boundary. Again the calmness shown by Dinesh Karthik under pressure was the striking feature of his knock.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Dinesh Karthik’s Classy Knock:

Dinesh Karthik has played 6 innings in IPL 2022 so far. He has remained unbeaten 5 times, scored 197 runs and has a strike rate of 209.57. If he continues this sublime run, there are high chances of him being selected in India’s squad for T20 World Cup 2022.

After RCB’s match against KKR, skipper Faf du Plessis had said: “DK is as close as it gets to MS Dhoni when it comes to being ice cool.”

India has faced the problem of being too reliant on the Top 3 batters in recent ICC events. Karthik’s inclusion can solve that issue for the team.

RCB Set a target of 190 runs for Delhi Capitals

Bangalore lost both their openers within the first three overs. Virat Kohli also got out later, courtesy of an incredible throw from Lalit Yadav standing at backward point region.

Glenn Maxwell then played a counter-attacking knock of 55 runs off 34 balls. From there on, it was the partnerhsip between Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed that stabilised the innings for RCB. Shahbaz scored crucial 32 runs off 21 balls.
