England’s white-ball captain, Jos Buttler, commented on his Rajasthan Royals teammate Sanju Samson‘s recent Instagram post on Sunday, October 13. Sanju demonstrated his remarkable form by scoring an impressive century off just 40 balls (the second-fastest by an Indian) during the third T20I against Bangladesh on October 12 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The Indian batsman also received the Player of the Match award as the Men in Blue triumphed over Bangladesh by 133 runs, completing a clean sweep in the three-match T20I series. Following the match, the 29-year-old posted on Instagram with the caption:
“I believed.”

Buttler praised the Indian batsman for his remarkable innings, saying:
“Awesome.”
Meanwhile, Buttler was absent from the recent five-match ODI series against Australia due to a persistent calf injury. The 34-year-old last played in the semi-final of the 2024 T20 World Cup against India in June, where his team suffered a 68-run defeat.
Sanju Samson’s outstanding performance contributed to India achieving the second-highest total in T20I history
The Men in Blue won the toss and chose to bat first in the third T20I against Bangladesh. Despite a rocky start, losing Abhishek Sharma for just four runs, Sanju Samson and captain Suryakumar Yadav changed the momentum with a remarkable partnership of 173 runs for the second wicket off just 69 balls.
Samson excelled, scoring 111 runs off 47 balls, with 11 fours and 8 sixes, while Suryakumar contributed a solid 75 runs off 35 balls, featuring eight fours and 5 sixes.
Rohan Parag (34 off 13 balls) and Hardik Pandya (47 off 18 balls) also made valuable contributions, helping India to a total of 297/6, which stands as the second-highest team total in T20I history.
In response, Bangladesh struggled throughout their innings, finishing at 164/7 and losing by 133 runs. Ravi Bishnoi was India’s standout bowler, claiming three wickets.
