The 14th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) kicks off on Sunday, 15 December, and will span six weeks. This Australian domestic competition features eight teams and will showcase some of the biggest names in cricket from Australia and around the world.
The tournament begins in Perth with the Perth Scorchers facing the Melbourne Stars. It runs until 27 January, with the group stage concluding on 19 January. A total of 44 games will be played across Australia, with the final venue yet to be decided. Matches will be held daily from 15 December, except for 24 and 25 December due to Christmas festivities.
The top four teams will advance to the knockout stages, which are structured as follows:
- 21 January: Qualifier – first vs second
- 22 January: Knockout – third vs fourth
- 24 January: Challenger – loser of the Qualifier vs winner of the Knockout
- 27 January: Final – winner of the Qualifier vs winner of the Challenger
