BCB Announces Asia XI Squad For The World T20s

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the Asia XI squad for the upcoming two-match Twenty20 International series against World XI. Bangladesh will host two T20Is to celebrate the 100th birthday of their Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The matches will take place on March 18 and 21 and will have international status.

BCB has named a star-studded squad for the upcoming series which includes top cricketers from India. Skipper Virat Kohli alongside the likes of KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant, and Kuldeep Yadav will ply their trade in the two-match series. There were speculations about the participation of top Indian cricketers but BCCI has sent in their best for the ties.

From Bangladesh, Liton Das, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mustafizur Rahman will participate while Thisara Perera and Lasith Malinga would turn up from Sri Lanka. From Afghanistan and Nepal, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Sandeep Lamichanne have been included.

Speculations rose about the participation of Indian players along with the Pakistan cricketers. However, the picture got cleared after BCB President Nazmul Hasan confirmed that no players for Pakistan will take part in the two-match series. Later on, Pakistan Cricket Board had clarified that it wasn’t about the BCB picking BCCI over PCB and it was a case of the Pakistan players being unavailable as they would be busy playing in the ongoing Pakistan Super League.

KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Tamim Iqbal, Virat Kohli, Liton Das, Rishabh Pant, Mushfiqur Rahim, Thisara Perera, Rashid Khan, Mustafizur Rahman, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lasith Malinga, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
