BCCI Releases India's Squad For Women's T20 World Cup 2024

On August 27, 2023, a squad of 15 players for the Women’s ICC T20 World Cup was announced by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). The women’s selection committee selected their ninth-time revision team, whose competition is about to begin from the 3rd to the 20th October in the United Arab Emirates.

In Dubai or Sharjah, there will be games played. The group A belongs to India which has got tough rivals such as Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand teams. Therefore, this announcement stands out as an important landmark because it shows that the country is ready to compete against other top teams at global-level tournaments.

This will ensure that Indian national team attitudes towards the introduction of fresh talent are balanced with what they call ‘tradition’. BCCI can thus aim on one hand at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and on another do groundwork for a much-awaited tournament in their own territory which also happens to be located within United Arab Emirates borders.
