The Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) declared a cash reward of Rs. 50 Lakhs each to all the players after their spirited performance in the Women’s World Cup 2017 in England. The supports staffs will also get Rs. 25 Lakhs when they return from England.
BCCI made this announcement after India reached the final of the tournament defeating defending champions Australia on Saturday courtesy unbeaten 171 from Harmanpreet Kaur. Mithali Raj & Co has been in terrific form right from the start of the tournament winning four matches in a row.
India will take on the hosting nation England in Lord’s tomorrow. It is expected to be a great final when the two nations will lock horns at the mecca of cricket in front of a power-packed audience. It has been learned that almost 27000 tickets have been sold off. More than 4000 people came in to watch the England-Australia game in Bristol, India-Pakistan match was also a sold out in the group stages.

India will go into the match as a much more confident side after their show against the Australians. India put up 281 for 4 in 42 over’s in a rain affected match with Kaur scoring 171 runs in 115 balls. Deepti Sharma, Jhulan Goswami, and Shikha Pandey put a spirited performance taking 3 wickets and 2 wickets each respectively to bundle out Australia in 245 in 40.1 over’s.
While talking to the media, Mithali Raj said that it won’t be an easy final England and they are confident enough to bring the trophy to India. This is the second time Indian women’s team reached the final of a World cup after 2005.
