BCCI Announces Schedule For Home Series against Afghanistan, West Indies & Australia

BCCI has announced the schedule for the upcoming home season for the Indian Cricket Team in the year 2018-19.

Afghanistan will be the first visiting side and the historic occasion of their first test match is going to be hosted by India in June. From 14th-18th of June, India will play the much-awaited event against Afghanistan.

A full tour of 5 T20Is, 3 ODIs, and 5 Tests will take place in England, spreading through the mid-September. But, Asia Cup is likely to commence the Indian home season, the dates and schedule for which will be announced by the Asian Cricket Council the governing body that organizes Asia Cup.

Westindies will then arrive for a full tour where they will play two test matches in Hyderabad and Rajkot. One of the venues is likely to be the host of India”s first ever Day-Night Test. Talks for organizing India”s own pink ball game has been going on for a while, at home. Especially with Australia asking India to play their traditional Australian summer D/N test in Adelaide later this year.

West Indies will stay in India to play a further 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is. ODIs will be played in Mumbai, Guwahati, Kochi, Indore, and Pune. And the T20IS internationals in Kolkata, Chennai, and Kanpur.

India will them embark on their full tour of Australia, where they are likely to play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs, and 4 Tests across 2 months. India will also tour New Zealand for 3 T20Is and 5 ODIs after that. The dates and schedule will be announced by the respective boards of Australia and New Zealand.

India will then return to complete the season on home shores, as Australia will arrive in India in March to play 5 ODIs and 2 T20Is. ODIs of which will be held in Mohali (February 24), Hyderabad (February 27), Nagpur (March 2), Delhi (March 5) and Ranchi (March 8). The T20Is are to be played in Bengaluru (March 10) and Visakhapatnam (March 13)

Then in April-May, the IPL will begin and the likelihood of it ending 15 days before the ICC Cricket World Cup that starts on 30th May, might force the board to pull the IPL dates by a week. But, all in all, a lot of cricket to look forward to for the Indian Cricket fans.
