Fan Breaches Security to Meet Kohli

During the second inning, when Virat Kohli was in sublime touch and had just completed his half-century, an overzealous fan couldn’t contain his excitement. He stormed onto the field, dodging security personnel, and ran straight toward Kohli. The fan, overwhelmed by emotions, bowed down and touched Kohli’s feet in a display of utmost respect.

The authorities arrested him under Section 329 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which became effective in July 2024. This law pertains to criminal trespass and entering property to commit an offense. The punishment could include up to three months in jail or a fine of ₹5,000.
