Ben Stokes was remarkably fortunate when he survived a vicious yorker from Jasprit Bumrah early on day 2 of the Chennai Test. Stokes at the time was batting on 0 when Bumrah decided to unleash his trademark sand shoe crusher. At first, it looked as if the ball got through and castled Ben Stokes. Though, the England all-rounder was lucky as the ball just missed the set of stumps.
Bumrah and all the Indian players had their hands on heads as the ball missed the stumps by a whisker. It was a perfect yorker against which Stokes had absolutely no answers. Bumrah decided to bend his back and executed a yorker that swung late to which Stokes was late in getting his bat down in time.

Eventually, Stokes survived a major terror as Bumrah again was frustrated with the outcome. It was almost a carbon copy of the delivery that Aussie fast bowler Mitchell Starc bowled to Stokes in the 2019 world cup at Lord’s. Starc had removed Stokes with an absolute beauty whereas Bumrah just missed it by the bearest of margins.

Luckily for Bumrah, he was able to get Dom Sibley with a fast yorker in the last over of day 1 of the Chennai Test. The Indian fast bowler produced a magical delivery on the dying stages of the day’s play and dismissed Sibley for a well made at 87.
Meanwhile, Bumrah has so far been the most successful India bowler as he has picked 2 wickets. Nevertheless, England is currently bossing the match as they are comfortably placed at 400-4. India was wicketless in the first session as captain Root and Stokes pilled on the runs. Joe root is still unbeaten and eyeing yet another double century whereas Stokes was dismissed by Shahbaz Nadeem on 82 in the second session.
