Sunrisers Hyderabad have received a massive blow with their star fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar ruled out of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. The senior fast bowler suffered an injury during their game against Chennai Super Kings and had to walk off the field.

Meanwhile, the incident took place in the 19th over of the CSK innings when Bhuvneshwar Kumar was called to bowl by his captain, David Warner, he pulled out of the over owing to a hip injury. Kumar bowled the first delivery to Sam Curran and pulled up his left thigh when he was to deliver his second. The SRH physio then escorted him out of the ground.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to miss IPL 2020

A report in ANI confirmed that Bhuvneshwar Kumar will take no more part in IPL 2020 with a hip injury. The fast bowler from Uttar Pradesh has been an integral part of Hyderabad set-up and his absence will surely be a big loss for David Warner & Co.

“Bhuvi will not be able to take further part in this year’s tournament as he has been ruled out with a hip injury. A big blow for sure as he is someone who leads the bowling unit and is also an integral part of the leadership group on the ground,” the source said.

Speaking ahead of the toss against Mumbai Indians, David Warner had said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar will miss a couple of matches as it looked like. But the hip injury will now see him miss the entire season of IPL 2020 in the UAE.

Moreover, the hip injury will also keep Bhuvneshwar Kumar from India’s tour of Australia which follows IPL. Virat Kohli & Co will play four Tests against the Aussies followed by a limited-overs series. Meanwhile, this is not the first time as Bhuvneshwar Kumar has struggled with injuries in the past as well which has cut short his cricketing career.

The 114 ODI veteran was making a comeback after an injury he suffered last year but another new set of blows will keep him out of action. Sunrisers Hyderabad are yet to announce any replacement and fielded Sandeep Sharma in place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the last game.
