It has been claimed that the dates for the Champions Trophy 2025, which is expected to be held in Pakistan, have been confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC). From February 19 to March 9 of the following year, eight of the best worldwide teams will square off for the highly sought-after Champions Trophy 2025.

Pakistan won the championship match when the Champions Trophy was last held in England in 2017. The Pakistani cricket team defeated the Indian cricket team in the summit match, and captain Sarfraz Ahmed, a wicketkeeper and batsman, helped them win their first-ever Champions Trophy at The Oval in England during the 2017 season.

A report on Cricbuzz claims that the 20-day timetable for the Champions Trophy’s comeback next year has been set by the ICC..

The competition, which includes the eight best teams in the ICC one-day international rankings, was last held in 2017, with Pakistan winning the trophy after defeating India in the championship match.

The present political tensions between the two neighboring nations cast doubt on Team India‘s participation in the event. Like the last Asia Cup, a “hybrid model” could be used, with some matches possibly held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A formal announcement from the ICC is still awaited, though.

The report adds that the suggested dates have been communicated to the International Criminal Court member boards.

Although Pakistan is the tournament’s official host, the Indian government’s unwillingness to permit its team to go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy could make the competition a hybrid model, much like the previous Asia Cup, in which India played all of its matches in Sri Lanka.

To reduce the amount of travel required by the Indian squad and to facilitate fan access from the Wagah border near Amritsar, Pakistan has reportedly designated Lahore as the location for all India matches.

When the ICC annual conference is held in Colombo in July, it is anticipated that the Indian government and BCCI will clarify their positions.
