Since there will be a mini-auction this year as well, the majority of players will remain with the franchises they represented in IPL 2020. As the trading war begins, a report in Insidesport suggests that Chennai Super Kings have made up their mind to part ways with veteran all-rounder Kedar Jadhav.

The 35-year-old cricketer had a horrific run with Chennai in the UAE and later had to warm the benches. The pocket-sized dynamo only managed 62 runs from eight outings with the highest score of 26 at a strike rate of 93.93. As a result, his exclusion doesn’t come as a surprise.

“Jadhav was not in best of form in IPL 2020. He was also struggling with his fitness. CSK will move on from Jadhav in IPL 2021, everyone in the team management feels that it will be prudent to take this hard call and invest in future,” a source told Insidesport.

Incidentally, Kedar Jadhav was roped in by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 2018 IPL for a whopping sum of Rs 7.8 crore. He played only the opening match scoring 24 runs before being ruled out of the entire tournament owing to a hamstring injury. In the next season, Jadhav managed to score 162 runs before missing the playoffs. The all-rounder was available for the whole 2020 edition but had to be benched for his poor performances.
