Former India cricketer Ravi Shastri hailed veteran batter Virat Kohli’s match-winning knock against Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Kohli slammed an unbeaten 82-run knock to power India to an emphatic four-wicket win. Shastri expressed that Kohli shut his critics’ mouths with his terrific batting.
Virat Kohli was going through a rough patch in his career in the last couple of years. However, he has made a strong comeback from the lean phase. The right-handed batter’s 82-run knock is being hailed as probably the best of his career. Kohli slammed six boundaries and four sixes, including two magnificent strikes against Haris Rauf.
Speaking to the Indian Express, Ravi Shastri said,
“For the cricketing world, he was a superstar even before the knock; now let them decide what he is to them. I am not going to put it in words for them. What’s next for Virat Kohli? I have no expectations, just let him enjoy his life. The media and critics have put enough pressure on this uncut diamond and he showed who he is. Chup kar diya na sabko?! (He has silenced everyone, right).”

Got emotional when it was all unfolding: Ravi Shastri on Virat Kohli’s match-winning knock
Former cricketer Ravi Shastri further revealed that he got emotional witnessing a great knock from Virat Kohli at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. He expressed that people have a short memory in India, and forget the achievements of a player.
“I got emotional when it was all unfolding. I have seen what he has gone through in the last couple of years. We all know the recent context. Did I have something to say to him at the end? Frankly, not a thing. We are a country with short memories; topi masters of the world! We flip, and change in two minutes. Kohli knows what I feel. I know what he feels. What’s there to be said? Not a thing,” said Ravi Shastri.
