Legendary Australian legspinner Shane Warne has died of a suspected heart attack at the age of 52 while on a holiday in Thailand. The former Aussie spinner played 145 Tests and 194 ODIs between 1992 and 2007.
“It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand today, Friday 4 March. Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course,” said a statement from Warne’s management company MPC Entertainment.
Shane Warne proved what greatness is. He finished his career with 293 wickets in ODIs and 708 wickets in Tests, the most by a legspinner in the format. While Warne enjoyed bowling against most teams, he particularly excelled against England and South Africa with 325 off his 708 Test wickets coming against the two nations.

Shocked, stunned & miserable…
Will miss you Warnie. There was never a dull moment with you around, on or off the field. Will always treasure our on field duels & off field banter. You always had a special place for India & Indians had a special place for you.

It’s a sad day for world cricket. First the news of Rodney Marsh & now Shane Warne 💔 Heartbreaking! I have fond memories of playing with Warne. He was the king of spin & a legend of the game who’s gone way before his time. RIP. You will be missed 🙏🏻 my condolences to his family

I am numb!!! My hero, my mentor, my great friend, Shane Warne is no longer with us. Warnie, the impact you had on this great game and everyone around it is immeasurable. Thank you for being so bloody good to me. I am going to miss you so much. Rest In Peace SK 💔💔

Numb. The highlight of my cricketing career was to keep wicket to Warnie. Best seat in the house to watch the maestro at work. Have often felt a tad selfish, that Heals and I pretty much exclusively are the only ones who had that thrill and pleasure at Test level. Rip Warnie.💔😢

Way way to young. Devastating news with the passing of SK Warne. Once in a lifetime cricketer. Charisma, leg spinner with a fast bowlers mentality.

Totally stunned by the news today, which I found out on a plane where I wrote this; loved playing against SKW and thoroughly enjoyed his company in the commentary box. A champion. What a loss. https://t.co/XIZ3EWaE3l
