Australian batter David Warner has been reunited with his baggy green cap which had gone missing before his farewell Test against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The cap was found in a bag in the Australian team’s hotel in Sydney.
The baggy green was in a bag that got lost as the Australian team travelled to Sydney. Warner had shared a video on social media requesting anyone who has the cap to return it to him. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had also publicly asked for Warner’s baggy green to be returned. The Australian cricketer on Friday, released another video to share delightful news. He confirmed that he has been reunited with his baggy green.

Pleased and relieved: David Warner
Australian batter David Warner further expressed that he is pleased and relieved to have his baggy green back in his hands. He added that a cricketer has a lot of sentiments attached to their Test caps. Warner also thanked the authorities involved for helping him to locate his cap. The veteran batter said,
“I’m pleased and relieved that I have got my baggy (green cap) back in my hands. Any cricketer knows how special their cap is and I’ll cherish this for the rest of my life.”
“Very grateful to all those involved in locating it: the Qantas team, the freight company, the hotel and own team management. It’s a load off my shoulders … I appreciate it, so thank you all,” he added.
Cricket Australia in their statement said,
“The bag in which they were packed was found at the team hotel [in Sydney], with all the contents inside. The movements of the missing bag are unknown despite extensive searches and the review of CCTV footage at multiple locations and the efforts of numerous parties since Tuesday.”
