Dean Jones’ wife has disclosed the reason behind the passing away of her husband. Former Australia cricketer Dean Jones took his final breath in Mumbai when he had come to work during IPL 2020. The entire cricketing world was in shock after the sad passing away of the cricket legend. Jones at 59 passed away in September while he was in a Mumbai hotel.

Jones was working for star sports as an expert during IPL which was held in UAE due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is believed that Jones had suffered a heart attack. However, his wife Jane Jones has spoken about the death of her husband and asserted that it wasn’t due to a heart attack. 

Dean Jones Wife Reveals Reason For His Death

She confirmed that the cricket legend fainted and died of a stroke in his Mumbai hotel. Fellow commentator and ex-Australian fast bowler Brett Lee was also quarantining with Dean Jones and gave CPR on his good friend, but was tragically unable to save him.

“It is actually under a coroner’s inquiry at the moment, not that they think there is anything other than what they have found, but just that he was a bit young to have the stroke the way it happened,” Jane Jones told The Age.

According to a report in The Herald Sun, both the Australian and Indian coroners have accepted Dean Jones died from a catastrophic stroke. Meanwhile, the Australian cricket legend was given a heartfelt tribute today by Cricket Australia on the opening day of the boxing day Test between Australia and India. 

Furthermore, Jones had represented his country in 52 Tests and 164 ODIs in his career. The stylish batsmen scored 3631 runs in Tests at an average of 46.55 with 11 hundred and 14 half-centuries. In ODIs, he accumulated 6068 runs at 44.61 with 7 hundred and 46 fifties.
