Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri has stressed that dew will play a key role while picking a playing XI in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled to take place in the UAE and Oman. The Men in Blue will begin their World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai.
Shastri, who is on his last assignment as head coach, stressed that they are looking at the form and rhythm of the players from the two warm-up matches against England and Australia.

During an interaction for official broadcasters ‘Star Sports’, Ravi Shastri said:
“We’ll just try to see how much dew is around and accordingly decide to bat/bowl first. Also helps us decide about playing an extra spinner or seamer.”
India made a good start beating England by seven wickets in their first warm-up game. KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan produced a stellar effort with the bat to chase down 189 runs set by the Three Lions.
IPL is an ideal preparatory ground for Indian players – Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri also asserted that IPL has been an ideal preparatory ground for the Indian players, most of whom are regulars for their respective franchises.
“Boys have been playing IPL for the last two months, so I don’t think they need too much of preparation. It’s more about them getting together and adapting together. Get some rhythm going, some energy going,” Shastri added.Â
India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 (Sunday) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
