The Indian Cricket team have landed in Cape Town yesterday. Dhawan’s wife and Kids were asked to not board the flight from Dubai to South Africa. They were waiting at Dubai airport waiting for the documents to arrive.
Shikhar Dhawan got frustrated and asked Emirates staff to tell him about the documents when we were boarding in Mumbai. It was an unprofessional behavior from the Emirates staff. Shikhar Dhawan’s kids were asked to produce their birth certificates and other documents which the kids did not have at that time.
India and South Africa will play in a 3 match test series starting from 5th January. Shikhar Dhawan is doubtful for the first test to be played at Cape Town from 5th January. He is an aggressive batsman for team India. He was seen with a heavy bandage on his left ankle and might miss the first test due to an injury. Indian team Physio Pattrick Farhart was with him, underwent MRI Scan.
1/2.Absolutely unprofessional from @emirates. Was on my way 2 SA with my fam & was told tht my wife and kids can't board the flight from Dubai to SA. Was asked to produce birth certificates & other documents fr my kids at the airport which we obviously didn't have at that moment.

It will be a big blow for the Indian team to lose an impact player like Shikhar Dhawan who can change the course of the game with his power-hitting. If he is unfit and does not play the first test, KL Rahul would open the innings.
2/2.They are now at Dubai airport waiting for the documents to arrive. Why didn't @emirates notify about such a situation when we were boarding the plane from Mumbai? One of the emirates' employee was being rude for no reason at all.

India has a great chance of winning their maiden test series in South Africa after brilliant performances at home. Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, Team India won 9 successive test series. Now the real test begins with tough overseas tours including South Africa, England, Australia, New Zealand and World Cup 2019.
Shikhar Dhawan would be hoping to be fit in time for the first test and open the innings with Murali Vijay. The opening partnership in South Africa would be crucial for the team cause and set the platform for a big total.

all the more reason for @BCCI to buy a private jet for the players!! Not that BCCI cannot afford it !!

This has nothing to do with emirates by the way, but a law enforced by South African government with effect from 1st June 2016 to carry your child’s original un abridged birth certificate when both parents fly. They are only following the regulations of South Africa government.

This is ideotic. Why is birth certificate required when passport has all the details?!

I think @emirates has some kind of a personal vendetta against cricketers. Earlier today @KP24 also had to go through a problem while flying with @emirates and now @SDhawan25
Disgraceful Emirates. #CanYouBeMoreResponsible— Shivan Mathur (@ShivanMathur) December 29, 2017
Emirates standard line- we are sorry to hear this. Emirates and the staff has made a mistake. Strict action against emirates needs to be taken
