Indian opener Prithvi Shaw makes a strong comeback with a brilliant knock on the 2nd Day of the Duleep Trophy finals played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 13 July 2023.

He showed his class with a quickfire knock for West Zone against South Zone. After bundling out South Zone for 213 runs in the first innings, Shaw looked in sublime touch with attacking shots and put opponent bowlers under pressure. He made the batting easy on a good batting pitch at Bengaluru.

Shaw completed his half-century and was eventually dismissed for 65 soon after the rain delay. West Zone lost an early wicket to Priyank Panchal with a lovely catch by Mayank Agarwal.

Shaw looked at ease putting the bad deliveries away for boundaries keeping the scoreboard ticking and making life tough for South Zone bowlers. He completed his half-century with a single of Koushik bowling.

The 23-year star Indian bowler scored 26 and 25 in the first semi-finals of the Duleep Trophy 2023 played at Alur last week. He showed his class with some class cover drives and provided a decent start to West Zone in the prestigious domestic tournament.

Shaw played his last international match for Team India on July 25, 2021. He scored a century on his Test debut against West Indies at Rajkot on 4 October 2018. Shaw played his last ODI in 2021, Sri Lanka, on 23 July 2021.

Shaw’s performance in IPL 2023

Prithvi Shaw had a horrible performance in the 2023 IPL for Delhi Capitals. He played just 8 matches in this year’s edition and scored 106 runs with the best score of 54 at a strike rate of 124.71.

Delhi Capitals failed to qualify for the playoff stage and finished 9th in the points table. Shaw had a decent outing during the 2022 edition with 283 runs from 10 matches with 2 half-centuries to his name.

Shaw looked out of sorts for Delhi Capitals in this year’s edition and was not able to provide a good start. He performed brilliantly for Mumbai in the previous year’s domestic season. Shaw scored the 2nd highest induvial score in Ranji Trophy 379 against Assam. It was an amazing season for talented batters.
