He will leave for UAE after the third Test match for the remaining IPL 2021. His fellow KKR teammates have already left for the country a day ago. Karthik’s commentary stood out from the rest as he was pinpoint with his analysis.
The 36-year-old first commentated in the final of the World Test Championship and then took over the role for The Hundred. He is now commentating in the ongoing Test series between India and England.

Dinesh Karthik was all set to be reappointed as KKR captain after England Cricket Board initially denied sending their players for the UAE leg. However, now with English players available once their tour to Bangladesh was postponed, Eoin Morgan has been reinstated as the side’s captain.
Karthik however, continues to remain one of their key players in the middle-order. He has scored 123 runs from the first seven games. The keeper-batsman has not yet scored a fifty as well in this season.
KKR won and lost seven games each in the previous IPL season held at this venue in 2020. So far in this season, the side won just two games and lost five.
KKR take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first game of the UAE leg. The two-time champions have signed Tim Southee as Pat Cummins’ replacement for the remainder of the season.
