Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was taken to a nearby hospital to have a precautionary scan on his right knee after India lost the Leeds Test. Jadeja left the field after the 32nd over of England’s innings on Day 1 of the third Test. This happened after he tried to stop a boundary at the point boundary hit by Haseeb Hameed of Mohammed Shami. He fell awkwardly on his right knee while trying to make the save and left the field immediately. There are no reports of anything serious as yet apart from precautionary scans as revealed by a Team India official.

Ravindra Jadeja who bowled only five overs till then came back and bowled a total of 32 overs on day 2 and three. He also scored a 25-ball 30 in India’s second innings. Jadeja has had scores of 56, 40, 3, 4 and 30 including two wickets that he picked in the last Test match.

The Indian all-rounder took to his Instagram handle to post a picture of himself from the hospital where he was taken for his treatment. “Not a good place to be at,” Jadeja posted on his Instagram story.

Meanwhile, the Indian batting order collapsed for the second time in two innings at Headingley. They were bowled out for 78 in their first innings. In the second innnings resuming at 215/2 on day 4, they were bundled out inside the first session for 278. India lost their last seven wickets in 54 minutes since Cheteshwar Pujara’s dismissal. England from being 0-1 down in the series has came back and levelled the series at 1-1.

Ollie Robinson took his second five-wicket haul in the series as he finished with five for 65. Craig Overton took three wickets and James Anderson and Moeen Ali took one each.

The next Test starts from next Thursday at The Oval and India have four days to identify their mistakes and work on them. It will be interesting to see if Jadeja gets fit in time for the next Test.
