India beat England by 151 runs at Lord’s on the fifth day of the Test match. Chasing 276 to win, England were bowled out for 120 as the Indian bowlers delivered a match-winning performance. This was India’s third Test wins at Lord’s, most by an Indian team on any English ground. This win came seven years later after India won their last Test match at this venue in 2014.

The Indian pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj shared all the 10 wickets between themselves. Siraj picked four, Ishant three and Shami a couple. KL Rahul was awarded the Man of the Match.

Meanwhile, throughout this Test match, many heated moments attracted a lot of attention and eyebrows. A few of them even dictated the result of this memorable Test win for India. In this article, we pick three of the most heated moments among the many.

Virat Kohli scored 42 and 20 in the two innings of the Test match. On the other hand, Robinson picked a fifer in the first innings. During his spell, when Kohli walked out to bat, he pinched Kohli saying that couldn’t even play a proper cover drive.

In the Indian second innings, Kohli got off the mark with a flourishing cover drive and in his innings of 20 struck two more to silence Robinson. Kohli proved that his cover drive is among the best in the world.

Jasprit Bumrah-James Anderson

Bumrah targeted Anderson with a barrage of short pitch deliveries as soon as he came out to bat in England’s first innings. This irked the veteran England pacer wo then said a few words to Bumrah. That got the Indian pacer charged up and he bowled a few more to Anderson.

When it was Bumrah’s turn to bat at Lord’s, Anderson tried to make him uncomfortable but the Indian pacers scored a fluent 34* and added a crucial 89* run stand for the ninth wicket to give India a lead of 0ver 250 runs which at last proved too much for the hosts in the second innings.

Jasprit Bumrah-Jos Buttler

The banter between Bumrah and Buttler on the fifth day at Lord’s was an extension of the animosity between Bumrah and Anderson. Anderson yet again tried bowling bouncers to the Indian pacer in the second innings as well. Bumrah got a few lucky boundaries as he tried to hit out of trouble.

There was some words exchange between Anderson and Bumrah. That was when Buttler stepped in to support his England teammate and Bumrah did not hold himself back from replying back to him as well. They both got involved in a heated exchange with Bumrah saying Buttler that he was not complaining against the England bowlers bowling bouncers at him. India skipper Virat Kohli was seen defending his teammate from the stands at the Lord’s balcony.
