ENG vs IND 2021: Watch – Indian Cricketers Welcome Jasprit Bumrah And Mohammed Shami After Terrific Partnership

The Day 5 of the England-India second Test match at Lord’s, London saw something unexpected yet amazing. The tailenders of India contributed crucial runs to help their team to put big runs on the board. Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah both batted exceptionally well. Also, The tailenders receive a warm welcome from Indian cricketers.

India’s top order didn’t reach expectations in the second innings. However Indian tailenders had a different plan. India’s last hope on Day 5 was wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, however, he failed to play an aggressive knock for the team. Pant was dismissed in 86th over of the match and India was at 194-7 with a long batting tail, as there was no Ravichandran Ashwin or Shardul Thakur in the lower middle order.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami had a remarkable 89* runs partnership

Moreover, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah had different plans. After Ishant Sharma got out after contributing crucial 16 runs, Indian pacers Shami and Bumrah were on the crease. Also, they pulled a massive upset against England’s good bowling unit and added unbeaten 89 runs. Shami scored a sensational half-century and scored the highest run score by no.9 Indian at Lord’s which was 56*, before Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar scored 52 while batting at no.9 at Lord’s. Also, Jasprit Bumrah registered his highest Test score of unbeaten 34.

After the marvelous innings, all the Indian cricketers gathered in the long room and were seen clapping while Bumrah and Shami entered the room. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wrote:

Meanwhile, India declared the innings after they got a good lead of 272 runs. England needed 272 runs to win from 60 overs. However, Jasprit Bumrah once again dismissed Rory Burns on duck.
