Team India is all set to face England in the five-match Test series which is just a few days away. The Pataudi Trophy is all set to begin on the 4th of August 2021 at Nottingham. Joe Root-led side will be looking forward to taking revenge against India. Notably, England lost the recent Test series against India in India. Also, the Virat Kohli-led side will look forward to dominating the series and start the new WTC cycle with a bang.
Fans would be hoping that rain doesn’t interrupt the game as it did in India vs New Zealand WTC final. Also, scattered showers are expected at the Trent Bridge at Nottingham on August 4. Meanwhile Stuart Broad shared the first look of the ground, pitch, and the weather at Nottingham. On 1st August Stuart Broad uploaded an Instagram story of the venue for the first Test between India and England.

Ben Stokes won’t be available in India vs England 5-match Test series
Ben Stokes has taken an indefinite break from cricket to focus on his mental well-being and recovery from a finger injury. Notably, Ben Stokes fractured his finger during the first half of IPL 2021 while playing for team Rajasthan Royals. Also, Craig Overton has been named as a replacement for Stokes by the England and Wales Cricket Board ( ECB).
“Ben Stokes has shown tremendous courage to open up about his feelings and wellbeing. Our primary focus has always been – and will continue to be – the mental health and welfare of all of our people,” Giles said. “The demands on our athletes to prepare and play elite sport are relentless in a typical environment, but the ongoing pandemic has acutely compounded this.”
“Spending significant amounts of time away from family, with minimal freedoms, is extremely challenging. The cumulative effect of operating almost continuously in these environments over the last 16 months has had a major impact on everyone’s wellbeing. Ben will be given as long as he needs and we look forward to seeing him playing cricket for England in the future.” said Ashley Giles, England’s director of men’s cricket.
Meanwhile, Ben Stokes was recently seen participating in the ODI series against Pakistan and The Hundred. However, just before the India series, he has decided to take a break from cricket. Also, he has received a lot of support from cricket pundits for his move.
