Shardul Thakur has been named as a replacement for injured Bumrah for the ODI series against England. Bumrah is expected to be fit for the test series which is scheduled to begin from August.
The news comes as a delight for a youngster who showed his brilliance with the ball in this edition of Indian Premier League. His quality death overs bagged wins for the franchise that led them to glory after a two-year ban. Though Shardul was inducted into the test squads, he is yet to make his appearance.

On the other hand, Axar Patel has named the replacement for injured Washington Sundar a week ago. With these announcements its evident that Deepak Chahar and Krunal Pandya will be back home after the T20 series.
The ODI series will commence on July 12 and the first game will be played at Trent Bridge. It is to be noted that the two highest ODI scores were registered at this very venue when England trashed Pakistan and Australia. The stadium also happens to be the home venue for Alex Hales who hit centuries in both the high scoring matches.
It will be really a herculean task without the Yorker king Jasprit Bumrah and the workload will be a bit higher for the regular bowlers. The wrist spinners played their part in the first T20I and they can be the game changers for the side to defeat the number one side in the world.
