England 396 for 7 in 88.1 overs (Chris Woakes 137*, Jonny Bairstow 93, Mohammed Shami 3/74, Hardik Pandya 3/66, Ishant Sharma 1/88) beat

Indian captain Virat Kohli said: Not proud of the way we played in this match. For the first time in 5 test matches, we were outplayed. The pitch was helpful for the fast bowlers and their bowlers were a spot. Dropping out a pace bowler was not good. I am confident that my back issue will be fine in 5 days.
England captain Joe Root said: The bowling unit was brilliant. On the 2nd day, the conditions favoured our bowlers. Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes partnership played superbly. It was an outstanding performance by our team. We would be looking to continue our impressive performance in the next test match and seal the series.
Man of the match Chris Woakes said: Happy to contribute with the bat and ball also. Scoring a century and getting on the boards will remember in my life. Once we got through the tough period we started scoring freely.
England takes a 2-0 lead in the series. The third test match would be played at Trent Bridge from 18th August.
