English wicketkeeper Johny Bairstow succumbed to an injury in his middle finger in the current test at Nottingham. It has been reported as a fracture from his X-ray. However, his present condition is unknown and it will be a huge loss for the side if it turns out to be a critical one.
The 28-year-old Jonny Bairstow has been one of their strengths in the middle order over the years and further updates regarding the same are awaited.
Meanwhile, the Indian side is extending its lead as it crossed past 447 runs and the Indian skipper reached his 23rd ton. Kohli who scored 97 in first innings, made sure to complete a big ton in the second.
The match is really turning out in the favour of visitors who are yet to make an impact in the test series. Pujara also registered his first half-century in the series and this will, in turn, boost his confidence on his overseas stats.
England now needs over 521 runs for a record chase and all eyes will be on skipper Root if he can continue his purple patch of a form against India.
Some good news for England!
Jonny Bairstow is padded up ready for a net & is “hopeful” of being able to bat in England’s second innings.👍

Jos Buttler took up the keeping duties yesterday sans Bairstow and an update from the England cricket board is expected to be out anytime in the due course of the match.
Ben Stokes comes in at 5.
We think Jonny Bairstow will bat, but at which place in the order we don't know.
