Smriti Mandhana has been making it to the headlines of newspapers, thanks to her terrific performances with the bat for the Indian Women”s” cricket side in the World Cup taking place in England. At just 20, she is having the time of her life!
Smriti has stunned the cricketing world by scoring 90 off 72 balls against England and 106 not out in 108 balls against the West Indies. She has been receiving heaps of praise from experts and her former coaches. One person who admires Smriti is former Indian swashbuckler Virender Sehwag.
A cricket fan with a twitter username SPYder, tagged Sehwag in a tweet and suggesting Smriti is the female version of the destructive right-handed opener. But what Viru said is definitely going to win your hearts.

Viru humbly replied ” She is the first version of Smriti and is really special. Every Indian who loves sports will be proud of her. Wish her and the team the best.” , to the tweet.

Former Australia woman cricketer Mel Jones really liked what Sehwag said:
