Former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan brought joy to children on Christmas by surprising them with a festive celebration. The 39-year-old cricketer turned into a Secret Santa, spending time with kids from various NGOs.
During the event, Dhawan clicked pictures, signed autographs, and ensured the children enjoyed meals and gifts. A video capturing the heartwarming moments was shared on Instagram by his NGO, the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, which captioned the post:
“Shared joy is double the joy and this Christmas – we at Shikhar Dhawan Foundation decided to do the same. A day of celebration as our founder @shikhardofficial played secret Santa to the kids from various NGO’s making this a memorable Christmas!”

Notably, the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation adopts 11 new NGOs across India each year. In the past, it has organized initiatives such as eye check-up camps, blood donation drives, and ration distribution programs to support the underprivileged.

Shikhar Dhawan retired from international cricket on August 24, 2024, with his final match for Team India being an ODI against Bangladesh in December 2022. Despite stepping away from international cricket, he continues to play in T20 leagues like the Nepal Premier League and Legends League Cricket.
Recently, Dhawan showcased his form in the Big Cricket League 2024 held in Surat. Representing the Northern Challengers, he scored 301 runs in five innings at an impressive strike rate of 198.03. His standout performance came against UP Brij Stars, where he smashed a 49-ball century and ended with 119 runs off 63 balls, hitting 14 fours and five sixes.
The Northern Challengers faced a tough semi-final loss to the Southern Spartans. Despite posting a formidable total of 218, the Shikhar Dhawan-led team couldn’t defend it, as the Spartans chased down the target in just 16.2 overs with six wickets to spare. Dhawan had a forgettable outing, falling for a two-ball duck.
