The second Test between India and Australia witnessed some terrific action in the first two days at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After KL Rahul’s blinder on day one, Australian cricketers Matt Renshaw and Pat Cummins too pulled off brilliant catches in the first innings. Renshaw has been called in as a concussion substitute for David Warner, who was hit on the helmet while batting. He left a mark with his fielding on day two of the second test.
Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin got Team India back on track after they were in a spot of bother. The duo put together a 114 runs stand for the eight-wicket-stand. Ravichandran Ashwin scored 37 runs off 71 deliveries, including five boundaries. Their partnership looked set to take India past the lead. However, Matt Renshaw’s outstanding catch ended Ashwin’s stay.
Pat Cummins bowled a full delivery onto the pads, which Ashwin chipped toward the square leg. Renshaw shuffled across to his right to complete a fine catch. Australia finally managed to break the century-plus stand and get back in the match.

Pat Cummins plucks off a stunner to dismiss Axar Patel
Soon after Ravichandran Ashwin’s wicket, Axar Patel too was dismissed as Pat Cummins pulled off a great catch. Todd Murphy bowled a full delivery, which Axar tried to slog across. However, the ball went straight to Pat Cummins at mid-on. It was hit hard by the Indian batter, who looked to take his team past the lead. The ball went over Cummins’ shoulders, but he judged it well to end Axar Patel’s stay at the crease.

Arey bhai gajab Jai Mata Di catch by Cummins. No business taking that with his strong hand but still.
Well fought Axar. At 139/7, the game looked very very different, to get it to 259 is a remarkable effort. Well played. Evened the game out.
