Former Australian bowler Brett Lee said that he has been “impressed” by the performance of youngster Shivam Mavi. Mavi was a part of Indian Under-19 squad that won the world cup at New Zealand under the leadership of Prithvi Shaw. He is now a part of Kolkata Knight Riders squad and has been playing a vital role as a middle-overs bowler. He picked three wickets in seven games and certainly looking for more.
Speaking on his performance Lee said that he might probably the future of Indian bowling. He said “I think Mavi has got everything. His actions are beautiful and he packs himself as a fully furnished bowler. With youngsters like Mavi, it”s extremely important to play with confidence, enjoying the spirit of the game”.
“He knows what he is doing and it looks like he really enjoys his cricket. I think Mavi for me is the future for Indian bowler”s,” he concluded. It is to be noted that Mavi and Nagarkoti were the primary reasons behind the success of the Indian Under-19 squad earlier this year. He picked 9 wickets in the tournament with a meagre economy of 4.12.
Brett Lee, who is currently staying in India is a part of the Star Sports commentary panel for the Indian Premier League. He is enjoying his stay at the subcontinent as he surprised the kids at Mumbai in disguise last week. He was also a part of the 2012 Kolkata squad that clinched the title for the first time.
