Former Team India physio Patrick Farhat joins Delhi Capitals

Former Physio of senior Indian cricket team Patrick Farhat has now been roped into Delhi Capitals side. He will function as their head physio starting from IPL 2020. Farhat has just ended his association with the BCCI, just after the World Cup.

The announcement has been made by the official social media handle of the Delhi Capitals side today.

Patrick Farhat is excited about his appointment and he said, “Delhi Capitals is a team that has made some very positive changes in its setup over the last couple of years, and the result is there to see in the side’s third-place finish in the 2019 season. It is certainly a team that is on its way up, and I am excited to be working with the players and support staff members in the upcoming seasons of the tournament.”

Prior to Delhi, Farhat has already worked with Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. Farhat played a crucial role in the Indian dressing room over the years. His abundant experience can act as a major support for the young Delhi side in tackling injuries.

 

A young and reliable side

Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, the team performed well in the 2019 edition. Their journey till the playoffs proved their ability to withstand pressure in the middle. The performance was highly applauded by several cricket fans.

Over the years, the Delhi side has always been known for the promotion of youngsters. Many of them have made International debuts after their consistent batting in the tournament.

A couple of days ago, the side also finished their first trading for the season. They released Sherfane Rutherford for Mayank Markande to add strength to the spin bowling.
