Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir has ridiculed reports of indiscipline following the Boxing Day Test that saw India suffer a 184-run loss to Australia. The unrest within the team had been rumored after leaked conversations from the dressing room were made public. However, Gambhir has not taken it seriously; he has said that all the stories in circulation are exaggerated and merely hypothetical.
Gautam Gambhir has intended to save his team from such baseless rumors and to underline that all the members of the team are concentrated on new upcoming tasks and they are not divided into groups.
There is only one match played by the Indian team so they will be eager to come back strongly in the other matches that are to be played. Because of Gambhir’s reassurance, the team moves away from destructive thinking to focus on how they will produce a positive outcome.
Gautam Gambhir denies chaos in the dressing room
Gautam Gambhir has dismissed rumours that there are problems within the Indian team after conversations in the dressing room during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy were disclosed. Speaking to the media on the eve of the Sydney Test, Gambhir dismissed the claims, which he described as rumors.
He pointed out that honesty, unity, and strategy are some of the factors that define the performance of the team. Gambhir tries to dispel rumors and concerns along with fan’s feelings that the team is ready for a new challenge. The team is now set for the Sydney Test against Australia.
“Debates between coach and player should remain in the dressing room. Stern words. They were just reports, not truth,” Gautam Gambhir said in the pre-match press meet ahead of India’s fifth and final Test against Australia, beginning here on Friday.
“Indian cricket will be in safe hands till honest people stay in the dressing room. Only thing that keeps you in the dressing room is performance,” he added.
“There were honest words and honesty is important,” Gautam Gambhir asserted.
