Hardik Pandya’s Fiery Finish Seals India’s Spot in Champions Trophy Final

India secured a thrilling four-wicket victory over Australia to book their place in the Champions Trophy 2025 final. The team, chasing 265 runs, saw an exceptional 84-run knock from Virat Kohli, supported by Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and KL Rahul. However, the defining moment came when Hardik Pandya stepped in during the latter part of the chase.

Needing quick runs, he played a blazing 28 off just 24 balls, smashing three sixes and a boundary. His fearless approach turned the momentum in India’s favor, particularly when he launched back-to-back sixes off Adam Zampa. While the entire team contributed to the win, Hardik’s power-hitting under pressure became the highlight of the match, ensuring India’s spot in the grand finale.

Dressing Room Tension: Hardik’s Calm Amidst Chaos

The thrilling chase had everyone in the Indian dressing room on edge. In a video shared by the Indian team, Hardik and Axar Patel discussed those tense final overs. Hardik revealed that despite the high-pressure situation, he was smiling internally, knowing that he could turn the game at any moment. “I knew people must have been a little tense in the dressing room, but I was laughing inside,” he admitted. Axar, on the other hand, humorously described how teammates were urging Hardik and Rahul to play it safe, rotate the strike, and avoid unnecessary risks. “We were all thinking, ‘Just take twos and singles!’” Axar recalled, adding that he still had faith in Hardik’s finishing ability.

KL Rahul’s Relief and India’s Road to the Final

KL Rahul, who played a steady knock of 42 off 34 balls*, acknowledged how Hardik’s big hits eased the pressure. “It did get closer than expected, but Hardik’s crucial sixes made a huge difference. It took the pressure off me, and I’m glad we crossed the line,” Rahul stated. With this victory, India stormed into the Champions Trophy final, setting up a much-anticipated clash against New Zealand. The team will now prepare for what promises to be an electrifying contest for the prestigious title.
