Indian women”s T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been appointed as the DSP of Punjab. The hard-hitting Indian all-rounder expressed her excitement in joining her new job on Twitter.
Kaur was given this post for delivering quality performances over the years which also includes her knock of 171 against the Aussies in the 2017 Women”s world cup at England.
She received the offer in July 2017 when she was a part of Western railways where she worked as an Office superintendent.
Reports suggest that she faced several issues in quitting her job with the railways due to her five-year agreement. Kaur, who just completed three years was not allowed to quit all of a sudden and it was Punjab CM who intervened to solve this issue in a small amount of time.
Proud to join DGP Suresh Arora in pinning the stars on the uniform of this young cricketer @ImHarmanpreet as she takes over as DSP in @PunjabPolice. This lady has done us proud and I’m confident she’ll continue to do so. My best wishes are with her. pic.twitter.com/0yuDOdr6j7

She thanked Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and Indian railway minister Piyush Goyal for making this happen.
“After the World cup, it has been five months that I have not been paid any salary. I am jobless. I am neither getting any salary from Railway nor from Punjab government,” Harmanpreet said the media.
By joining the Punjab Police as a DySP, @ImHarmanpreet has set an example for all others to follow, especially the youth that if one is committed to the aim with perseverance, Self Discipline, and Hard Work, then the sky is the limit. #HardWorkNeverGoesWaste #RoleModel pic.twitter.com/9IfNSIMbVy
