Junaid Khan justified his choice of Rohit Sharma as the best Indian batsman, emphasizing the veteran opener’s prowess with double centuries and exceptional six-hitting abilities, considering him a top-tier batter.
This is Junaid Khan’s statement about Rohit Sharma:
“I am going to say Rohit Sharma (when asked who’s the top batter India has produced between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli). He has all kinds of shots in his arsenal.”
”Virat is a great player. But the way Sachin batted in a different era, he would have scored more than 100 centuries in today’s time.”
“Everybody calls Rohit ‘The Hitman’ because of his incredible 264. He has also scored multiple double hundreds (in ODIs). This is rare, because he has done it more than once. He has also hit the most number of sixes.”
Rohit Sharma has not made his comeback in T20I cricket
Due to Hardik Pandya’s ankle injury sidelining him from the South Africa tour, there were reports speculating Rohit Sharma’s return to captain the Indian T20I team, marking more than a year since his last appearance.
However, the BCCI clarified that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli requested rest for the white-ball segment of the tour. The captaincy for the T20 World Cup in June next year remains an intriguing question.
