“He Is Definitely Getting Better” – Cheteshwar Pujara Gives An Update On Virat Kohli

Team India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara revealed that captain Virat Kohli, who missed the 2nd Testy, is likely to be fit for the final Test in Cape Town. The incumbent Test captain suffered an upper back injury and had to sit out of the Wanderers Test.

In the absence of Kohli, KL Rahul was named as the captain, who revealed that the former is working with the physios to regain full fitness. Hanuma Vihari has replaced Kohli in the match.

During a media interaction after the completion of day 3 of the 2nd Test, Cheteshwar Pujara informed that Virat Kohli is working in the nets and is expected to be fit before the final Test.

“Officially I cannot reveal anything more but now he (Kohli) is definitely getting better and I feel that he will be fit very soon. The exact status on his fitness would come from team physio,” Cheteshwar Pujara said.

However, Virat Kohli has been in the thick of things and was spotted speaking to Mohammed Shami about the plans on day 2. He has also started batting in the nets and might slot back to lead the side in Cape Town.

The Proteas have displayed a much-improved batting performance in the second innings, stands on the cusp of victory as they need only 122 runs to level the series with plenty of time remaining in this Tets match.

Dean Elgar, who took blows on the head and body, ended the day on 46* with the Proteas practically halfway through their chase of 240. On the other hand, India need only eight wickets to script their maiden Test series win on South African soil.
