In a series of announcements today, BCCI disclosed the Indian squad for the upcoming one-off test match against Afghanistan and limited-overs leg of Ireland and England tours.
Virat Kohli who has opted to play county cricket for Surrey in England will miss out on the inaugural test match against Afghanistan. Rohit Sharma and Bumrah too will miss out on the Afghanistan test as Ajinkya Rahane is all set to lead the Indian side against the Afghans in the historic match.
Selectors announced full-strength squad for the Ireland T20Is and England ODI series. Kohli along with others will return for UK tour commencing from next month.
While Shardul was the surprise in the test squad, Siddharth Kaul earned the well-deserved spot in the T20 team of the men in blue. Twitteratis were pleased with squad selections for the all-important England tour and one-off Afghanistan test match.
Although some of them also criticized the exclusion of players like Rishabh pant and Krunal Pandya, here are all the reactions from the social media site.
