The new head coach, Brendon McCullum, has enthused Jos Buttler, captain of England’s white-ball team. Recently, he assumed control over all three formats of the game after having previously presided over the England Test team.

But for Buttler, who is considered a hard-hitting batsman, collaboration with McCullum would be beneficial because their mentalities and methods align. It is said that Buttler expects to learn from discussions on various subjects with him hence he describes himself as being ready to talk about anything.

England cricket intends to bring in new blood with McCullum’s appointment, and Buttler’s desire to collaborate with him points to a fruitful combination. Their shared aggressive mentality could play a crucial role in determining the direction England’s cricketing career takes as they get ready to face obstacles. It is encouraging for the team’s future under the new coaching staff because Buttler is receptive to McCullum’s impact.

“We’re similar in the way we see the game”- Jos Buttler

In collaboration with Brendon McCullum in the future, Jos Buttler, who is the captain of England’s white-ball team, expressed excitement. Earlier in September, McCullum, who was head coach of the England Test team before their white-ball series against Australia, was given responsibility for all forms of the game.

“I have a bit of a relationship with [Brendon McCullum] Baz but I’m looking forward to spending more time with him. I’m looking forward to digging into the cricket side of things. He will help me so much as a captain,” Buttler told Sky Sports during England’s 3rd T20I vs Australia.

“We’re similar in the way we see the game but just getting to spend time with him and opening my eyes to certain things or the other way around. For me, I want this to be the most enjoyable part of my career. I’ve played for a decent amount of time now so maybe a shift in the goalposts of what you really want to achieve and for me that’s helping guys become what they can be and building towards two big events later on,” he further added.

On September 3, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) declared that Brendon McCullum will assume leadership of the white-ball squad.
