For a long time now, the cricketing fans and analysts are involved in various debates regarding the comparison of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. While few of them asked Babar Azam to perform even better to be in the league while few told Virat Kohli is far away from Pakistan’s superstar.

Babar Azam has been slowly and steadily challenging the best batsmen in the business given his consistency across formats. In a short span of time, Babar has established himself as one of the best batsmen in modern-day cricket. Considering the rivalry between India and Pakistan, Babar is also often compared with Indian captain Virat Kohli as both batsmen are consistent.

I only try to satisfy myself – Babar Azam

Speaking of the same, Babar Azam pull curtains on the debate saying that he is far away from Virat Kohli and wants to become like him for Pakistan. He wants to win matches for Pakistan like Virat Kohli do for India. Babar feels he needs to achieve a lot in the times to come.

“He is one of the best players. I am far behind and I have a lot to achieve yet. I will try to become a player like him and win matches for Pakistan and create records,” Babar Azam told Cricbuzz.

“And also, I don’t make runs to compete with others or to be compared with other top batsmen, I only try to satisfy myself, my team and my fans. Through my performances, I want to make fans happy and help the team win,” Azam added.

Currently, Babar and Kohli are the only two batsmen in ICC top 10 rankings of all three formats at the moment. Kohli holds the top spot in ODI rankings, 2nd in Tests and 10th in T20Is.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam is at the top of T20I rankings, while his consistent show in Test cricket lands him to the 5th spot. While in ODIs, he is behind Kohli and Rohit Sharma at the third spot.
