Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2022 with an injury to his forearm. The star batter suffered the injury during their game against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Incidentally, the 31-year-old cricketer missed MI’s initial two matches as he was recovering from another hand injury he suffered during the limited-overs series against West Indies. However, he has suffered another injury which will keep him out for another few weeks.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav took to Twitter on Monday (May 9) and thanked his fans and well-wishers for their greetings. The 31-year-old batter also said that he will return to action soon. Sharing a picture, he wrote:

“With all your good wishes and support, I will be back in no time. To my MI family, I will be cheering for you from the other side, this time. Let’s finish the tournament on a high note and display our true character on field.”

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav had a great run in the competition and was one of Mumbai’s highest run-scorer in IPL 2022. He amassed 303 runs in eight games with his average and strike rate being 40 and 140 respectively.

Mumbai Indians go down against Kolkata Knight Riders

Asked to bat first, Venkatesh Iyer gave KKR a fiery start before Mumbai pegged back. Nitish Rana also scored some crucial before Jasprit Bumrah’s five-wicket spell halted the innings and helped Mumbai restrict Kolkata to 165 runs.

While it looked like an easy chase, KKR bowlers did exceedingly well to bowl out Mumbai for 113 runs to secure a 52-run victory. Pat Cummins picked up three wickets on his comeback match while Andre Russell chipped in with crucial wickets.

With this victory, the Knight Riders have kept their hopes alive for making it to the IPL 2022 playoffs. They will have to win all their remaining matches and look at other teams to give them the best chances of making it to the top four.
