The Western Railway (WR) is making arrangements for two special trains, including a Vande Bharat Express, to operate between Mumbai and Ahmedabad in anticipation of the India-Pakistan cricket World Cup match on October 14.
This marks the first occasion where the WR will provide an inter-city train service for a sports event. One fully air-conditioned train will depart from Mumbai at around 10 pm on October 13 and is expected to arrive at 6 am.
Another source suggested that the Vande Bharat Express is set to leave Mumbai on the day of the match in the morning, ensuring that spectators can reach the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, well in advance of the 2 pm match.
