South African cricketer Rassie van der Dussen pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Mitchell Marsh during the second semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against Australia on Thursday, November 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. His effort pushed Australia on the back foot, chasing 213 runs. It also left the fans and the experts in awe.
The incident took place during the eighth over of the Australian innings. Kagiso Rabada bowled a good-length delivery outside the off-stump to Mitchell Marsh. The Australian batter played the drive on the rise. The ball went flying to the right of the cover fielder. Rassie van der Dussen dived to his right to take a spectacular catch. He was airborne when he took the catch with both hands. Mitchell Marsh had to walk back for a duck in the match, leaving Australia in trouble.

David Miller’s heroics power South Africa to 212 runs
David Miller’s century led South Africa’s comeback in the second semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against Australia on Thursday, November 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They were struggling at 24/4 after 12 overs. However, David Miller got together with Heinrich Klaasen to put together a 95-run stand. The veteran batter also had a small partnership with Gerald Coetzee of 53 runs.
Miller slammed 101 runs off 116 deliveries with eight boundaries and five sixes in the innings. South Africa finished on 212 runs on the back of his century, before getting all out. Heinrich Klaasen also scored 47 runs off 48 deliveries in the innings. They recovered well from their initial situation. Meanwhile, pacer Mitchell Starc and Australian skipper Pat Cummins took three wickets each in the innings. Josh Hazlewood and Travis Head also picked up two wickets each.
